Expanding firm‘s relocation underlines Bristol‘s continuing draw, says King Sturge
A leading law firm has completed another successful deal – this time for themselves to take space in one of central Bristol‘s finest new office buildings.
Top 100 law firm Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons has outgrown its existing offices at Lewins Mead and announced plans to lease 21,500 sq ft of prime office space on the top two floors of the aptly-named The Paragon building in Victoria Street, which is being developed by Bristol based company, Cubex Land.
The Paragon, which is being jointly marketed by King Sturge and Hartnell Taylor Cook at quoting rents of £28 per sq ft, can justifiably lay claim to being one of Bristol‘s very best office buildings.
Not only is it at the heart of the Redcliffe Triangle - an area favoured by Bristol‘s growing professional businesses - it is also one of only a handful of buildings in the South West to receive an “excellent” BREEAM rating (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment).
Jeremy Richards, partner in charge at the Bristol office of King Sturge, said: “Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons is The Paragon‘s first tenant and will occupy 30 per cent of the office space.
“We‘re also receiving good levels of interest from other quality occupiers, which is encouraging given the challenging economic climate.”
He added. “This deal demonstrates that for professional occupiers Bristol continues to be an excellent place to work and invest and that The Paragon is the perfect choice.”
The announcement by Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons means the firm will occupy almost double its present office space when they relocate to The Paragon.
The firm‘s Managing Partner, Thomas Sheppard, said: “We looked long and hard to find the best premises to suit our needs and we are delighted both with the location and the design of this excellent building.”
Peter Walford, Director at Cubex, said: “We‘re really pleased that Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons has chosen The Paragon for future expansion to improve their business profile.
“The building is scheduled to be completed in spring 2009 and the fact we have secured such a high profile letting so early in the development programme is a real endorsement to its stature in the Bristol office market.”
He added: “In terms of specification, location and sustainability The Paragon is in a league of its own and will no doubt be the benchmark to which other building projects are compared to in the future.”
Mr Sheppard added: “Having secured excellent new London offices earlier this year we now have a long term home in Bristol that will allow room for our continued expansion and match our aspirations and business needs.”
There is now just 52,460 sq ft available over The Paragon‘s remaining four floors plus three retail units on the ground floor fronting Victoria Street.
