SOUTH WEST’S LARGEST DEBT-RECOVERY TEAM WINS THREE NATIONAL CONTRACTS TO RECOVER MORE THAN £10M

One of the South West‘s largest law firms, Clarke Willmott, has won three major new contracts to collect more than £10 million for its national Business Recovery Unit in Taunton.

The unit‘s new clients are utility giant, Veolia Water Outsourcing (formerly Thames Water Services), and two of the country‘s largest property consultants – Lambert Smith Hampton, and Bruton Knowles.

The 65 staff in the unit – the largest in the South West - have now started the process of collecting unpaid debt for 22,400 Welsh Water accounts, and of helping the two property companies to recover volume debts associated with their clients‘ residential management services.

Tim Hayden, Taunton based chairman of Clarke Willmott, said:  “Our debt recovery team is rightly proud of their latest major contract wins, at a time when the economic climate is also expanding their workload.

“Despite the recent loss, after five years, of the Insolvency Service‘s debt recovery contract in a re-tendering process, these wins underline the firm‘s continued growth plan for our business recovery unit, alongside the sustained growth of our other Taunton based specialisms.

“With more than 220 staff, our Taunton office is now one of the largest law centres in the South West, and is Clarke Willmott‘s national centre of excellence for expertise in agriculture, wealth management, private client services, and big ticket property and planning services”, said Tim Hayden.
