INTEGRAL APPOINTS A DIRECTOR TO DELIVER TARGETS FOR SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Integral, the UK‘s largest and fastest growing independent provider of comprehensive nationwide property maintenance services has appointed a director to deliver its targets for continued improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Don Urquhart joins Integral from OCS Engineering where he was responsible for safety and environmental policies.  A chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH), Mr Urquhart has previous experience with Kent Police and various industrial organisations, including Planned Maintenance, another national leader in the specialised field of property maintenance services.

Integral‘s Managing Director, Bryan Glastonbury, said:  “We are proud of what we have already achieved in delivering industry-leading levels of safety and environmental responsibility.

“Having taken measures that secured a 12.5% reduction in reportable accidents, we have set a target to reduce all accidents by a further 5% per year”, said Mr Glastonbury.

Don is an experienced and talented Health & Safety professional and will ensure compliance and develop Integral‘s Health & Safety capability to include securing OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.

The company, with the country‘s largest mobile maintenance fleet of more than 1,200 vehicles, has an equally stringent target for environmental performance.

“We are investing in the total replacement of that fleet with low-carbon vehicles, and have committed to a policy of recruiting skilled engineers in every postcode area to minimise travel distance and time.

“The appointment of Don Urquhart gives us a director who will provide strategy and direction on all aspects of Health & Safety and who will focus on driving these policies and targets”, said Mr Glastonbury.

“In the expanding market for facility management delivery, the issues of safety and sustainability are becoming ever more important to our customers, who have their own stakeholders demanding high standards of safety and sustainability.  Integral is not a facility management company;  we provide all the practical services that a facility management company needs, so we must also deliver the safety and sustainability performance demanded of FM companies”, he added.
