LIVERPOOL GETS NEW ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY VEHICLES

Bootle-based Integral Housing Services has just taken delivery of new energy efficient vehicles for its mobile maintenance staff.

Integral Housing Services is part of Integral, the UK‘s largest independently owned property maintenance provider.  The division has been providing property maintenance and repair services to local authorities and housing associations in the Merseyside area for more than a decade.

The new vehicles are low-energy vans chosen to reduce the fleet‘s impact on the environment, and can be spotted around the city and in the new silver-grey colour with the eye-catching red Integral logo.

All of Integral Housing Services‘ 190 vehicle fleet will be upgraded to the new models over the next year, in line with the company‘s ‘green transport‘ policy which was created with the Energy Saving Trust.

Ian Jones, Housing Services Regional Director says: “These new vehicles have been chosen for their improved energy efficiency, they are all Euro 3 or 4 emission ratings, and have smaller diesel engines delivering more miles to the gallon and lower emissions.  The next stage of our green transport policy will be to monitor the developments in hybrid vehicles.”

“Employing over 260 people in Bootle, Integral Housing Services has a long established policy of directly recruiting local people who live close to its clients‘ properties.  This means that we can cut the amount of traveling our staff have to do and reduce our environmental impact even further.

“We believe that is it important to minimise our impact on the environment and are always looking for sustainable and environmentally friendly initiatives which improve our customer service and provide added value for our housing clients.”
