“Mid sized firms best placed to take advantage of this trend”, say Jordans
Britain‘s members of international accountancy networks could benefit from a new boom in interest among EU countries for incorporating businesses in the UK.
This is the verdict of Jordans, the UK‘s largest independent provider of business services and information to companies and their professional advisers.
According to Paul Townsend, Jordans‘ UK Corporate Director: “Over the past year, we have seen the number of UK company formations grow significantly, boosted by EU businesses recognising the cost and regulatory benefits of incorporating their companies in the UK.
“Germany has been at the fore-front of this new trend, with many thousands of German businesses choosing to incorporate their respective companies in the UK, where the cost and other constraints of incorporation are a fraction of those in their home market”, said Mr Townsend.
Jordans has spear-headed this Germanic boom in UK company formations, in partnership with a German accountancy firm and identical opportunities exist for similar joint-venture partnerships in Denmark, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy and Scandinavia.
“Many mid-sized UK accountancy firms are members of international networks, with partners in those countries where incorporation demands far higher costs and constraints than in the UK”, said Mr Townsend.
“We are now targeting those EU countries, where businesses will secure the huge cost savings and convenience already being enjoyed by Germans choosing to incorporate their companies in the UK. This provides a revenue opportunity for UK members of international accountancy groups to engage with their EU partners”, he added.
“Since most of the overseas beneficiaries are small to medium sized companies, this is a very real revenue opportunity for mid-sized accountancy firms that are members of international networks”, said Mr Townsend.
