Staff from Trowbridge-based business, The Consortium, have taken part in The White Horse Challenge, to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Employees at the award-winning national procurement and fulfilment company, took part in the fundraising walk which covered 55 miles in just two days, taking a circular route around seven of Wiltshire‘s white horses.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance is entirely dependent upon public support to raise money each year to keep it flying. The money will go towards the Air Ambulance‘s annual running costs of £350,000.
The walk took place over the weekend of Saturday 9 June and Sunday 10 June.
Melanie Teal from The Consortium said: “The Wiltshire Air Ambulance can make a life or death difference to those in medical extremis and we are proud to support this invaluable service.
“Six of us completed the entire 55 mile walk and then five employees and their families took part in the seven mile family walk on Sunday.”
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended over 420 incidents in 2005 almost half of which were road traffic accidents, the remaining incidents included horse riding and sports injuries, industrial and farm accidents, fire and medical emergencies.
ENDS 9th July 2007
