SHERMOND WINS THE CONSORTIUM'S FIRST CARE SUPPLIER AWARD

Disposable hygiene products supplier Shermond has been named Care Supplier of the Year by national procurement and fulfilment company The Consortium.

The Consortium has run annual awards for its education suppliers for several years and now Shermond, which supplies the company with disposable gloves and aprons, has won its inaugural Care Supplier of the Year Award.

Brighton-based Shermond has worked closely with The Consortium in supporting its recent move into the care sector with a range of marketing material, product promotions and discounts.

The Consortium‘s first care catalogue generated over 1,000 customers in its first year, and this year‘s catalogue is 20 per cent bigger with 68 more pages, 700 brand new products and another 1,200 products which are featured for the first time.

Melanie Teal, chief executive at The Consortium, says: “Maintaining a good relationship with our suppliers is obviously key to our business, and we look to recognise companies that can be an asset to our own business and support our growth.”

David Westley, Medical Account Manager for Shermond added: “Shermond has always prided itself on ‘putting the customer first‘. When that discipline is rewarded, it has a really positive reaction from the whole team.

“When I told the team that they had achieved the Supplier of the Year 2007 Care Award from The Consortium everyone, Office and Warehouse alike were delighted.  We as a company strive to give ‘outrageous customer service‘ and would like to thank The Consortium for this prestigious award.”

ENDS             10th May 2007
