The Consortium

THE CONSORTIUM HAS BEEN SHORT-LISTED FOR SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR

The Consortium was short-listed for the award for Supplier of the Year: Company with a turnover of more than £3 million, at the Education Resources Awards. These are organised by the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA).

The national procurement and fulfilment company won the award in 2005.

The Education Resources Awards highlight and promote the quality and diversity of educational products and services provided by suppliers to the sector.

Melanie Teal, Chief Executive of The Consortium said: “We place customer care and satisfaction at the heart of everything we do.

“Our education catalogue now offers over 30,000 products and services, with free next day delivery.  We offer no quibble returns and a low price guarantee.

“We have launched a customer magazine entitled ‘Streams‘ and in 2006, our customer services team were accredited by the Customer Contact Association.

“We conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys and in October 2006 the results revealed an improved score of 80% in Price & Product Quality whilst all other scores maintained a ‘good‘ or ‘excellent‘ result.”

The Consortium is keen to support education professionals and with this in mind, has recently hosted a dinner at The Education Show.  The dinner offered a forum to debate extended schools and was attended by leading figures from the education world, Head Teachers and Jeremy Sutcliffe, Assistant Editor of the Times Educational Supplement.

The outcomes and conclusions will be circulated to the educational trade media in the near future.
