Cardiff International Airport

AIRPORT'S WINTER RUSH

Cardiff International Airport reports that 18 per cent more passengers passed through during January and February of 2007 compared with the same period in 2006.

For the first time in the capital city airport‘s history, more than 220,000 passengers have used the airport in the two traditionally quiet months. 16,000 of these were attributable to diverted Bristol Airport flights.

Recently announced scheduled flights by Flybe to Paris are expected to sustain or accelerate the airport‘s growth in the run-up to the summer peak.

Other new scheduled flights announced for the summer timetable include bmibaby to Murcia, Aer Arann to Nantes, Thomsonfly to Barcelona, Flybe to Belfast City and Highland Airways to Anglesey.
