MOMENTUM’S FIRST RECRUIT BECOMES ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The West‘s leading advisers on management buyouts (MBOs) and disposals has announced the promotion of its first-ever employee to the post of Assistant Director.

Alastair Boorman joined Bristol-based Momentum from Ernst & Young, in March 2003. Prior to this he worked in the Cardiff office of fellow Big Four firm PwC, with whom he qualified after graduating in biochemistry from Warwick University.

Having completed successful MBOs at Integral, the UK‘s leading independent building maintenance specialists,   Hall & Kay, the UK‘s number two installer of fire sprinkler products, and Origin Publishing, which was purchased from the BBC, Momentum Corporate Finance began its second year with the recent completion of a £21 million MBO for Tocris Cookson Ltd., the Bristol-based global leaders in specialist laboratory reagents.

Rob Crews, a partner at Momentum Corporate Finance, comments: “Alastair has been promoted from Manager to Assistant Director in recognition of the wealth of deal experience he has gained with us. He generates extremely strong relationships with our clients and is a key part of our team.

“He is a great example of how, through being part of a boutique team, one can gain a huge amount of experience in a very short time. His career has flourished at Momentum and his work on deals such as Integral, which won the region‘s ‘Deal of the Year‘ award, has meant that he is quickly building a reputation as a very young and talented dealmaker.”

ENDS             22nd January 2007
