SOUTH WEST ACCOUNTANCY FIRM JOINS THE REGION’S “BEACON COMPANIES”

BISHOP FLEMING SECURES “BEACON STATUS”

Bishop Fleming, the South West accountancy firm with the widest spread of offices throughout the region, has been awarded “Beacon Company” status.

The accountancy firm joins such other regional Beacon Companies as Aardman Animations, Bristol International Airport, Midas Group, Riverford Organic Vegetables, Two Four Digital, and Western Provident Association.

Judging criteria for the award included Bishop Fleming‘s multi-site operation (spanning offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, and Truro), HR processes for staff assessment and skills growth, financial management, and business strategy.

Managing Partner of Bishop Fleming, Matthew Lee, said:  “We recognised the ethos of the South West Beacon Companies initiative as a forum for the leaders of this region‘s most successful businesses to share common issues, and to provide mentoring support for emerging local companies.”

Bishop Fleming was the UK‘s first accountancy firm to win Investors in People accreditation, and was short-listed in the latest national award for taxation expertise.

“Our focus is on being the champion of owner-managed companies throughout the South West, so joining the region‘s Beacon Companies is a huge accolade for our business, and the success of our teams in every office around the region”, said Mr Lee.

Bishop Fleming was founded in the South West more than 90 years ago, and is the accountancy firm with the widest spread of offices throughout the region.  The firm has doubled the size of its business in recent years, and has declared an ambitious growth plan based on sustaining its focus in the South West.
