GOSPEL CHOIR RECEIVES £1K DONATION FROM SPIRE BRISTOL HOSPITAL

A Bristol gospel choir is practising hard for its launch concert following a

£1,000 donation from the South West‘s largest private hospital.

Spire Bristol Hospital is supporting the Community Sounds Community Gospel Choir, based in St. Agnes.

The group, which aims to bring music and choral direction to local primary and secondary schools, is run by Community Sounds Ltd., a non-profit Christian arts education organisation.
 
The 20-strong choir is backed by a five-piece band and is holding its debut concert on 6th June at St George‘s, Brandon Hill, in an event which also features leading gospel singer Paul Lee and Kuumba Youth Music.
 
Dennis de Cordova, chairman of Community Sounds Ltd., said: “Our vision is a centre of excellence for arts education but more immediately, to provide vocal and instrumental tuition, workshops, mentoring and support to both teachers and students in schools.

“Spire‘s offer of support in the form of sponsorship is most welcome in these harsh economic times and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”

Rob Anderson, director at Spire Bristol Hospital, added: “We are committed to supporting a range of community organisations in and around Bristol and are delighted to assist such a worthwhile cause.”
