City centre office is latest addition to Nick Leslau and Max Property Group‘s commercial property portfolio
Property tycoon Nick Leslau – who recently appeared on Channel Four‘s The Secret Millionaire – has made a major investment in Bristol.
Mr Leslau‘s AIM-listed company, MAX Property Group, has added city centre New Bond House to its UK offices portfolio.
It is MAX‘s first foray in to the South West and, say experts, provides a significant boost to Bristol‘s economic confidence as it emerges from the recession.
International property consultants King Sturge are the joint letting agents for New Bond House and Ian Wills, partner in the firm‘s Office Agency Team, said: “This is tremendous news for Bristol and underlines the city‘s strategic importance both regionally and nationally.
“Nick Leslau and his MAX Property Group have been quick to recognise Bristol‘s growth potential and much of the space in New Bond House has been turned into smaller high-quality suites from about 1,000 sq ft specifically to serve the city‘s burgeoning SME sector.
“In addition to this, and in an effort to get the whole building occupied quickly, space is being offered at £8.50 per sq ft – the lowest quoting terms for a recently-refurbished, air conditioned office of this high quality”.
Worth an estimated £200 million, Mr Leslau came to widespread public attention in 2008 when he swapped his £15 million Mayfair mansion for the mean streets of Glasgow, posing as a trainee social worker for popular TV series The Secret Millionaire.
Of his company‘s expansion into Bristol Mr Leslau said: “We‘re really excited to now be in Bristol. We see the city as a place of real importance with significant growth potential and it made perfect commercial sense to do business here”.
King Sturge and Alder King are joint letting agents.
Ends 23rd February 2010
