INTEGRAL SCOOPS THE WEST BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD

Judges praise company for its commitment to growth despite economic downturn

The UK‘s leading independent provider of building maintenance services, Integral, has been crowned West Business of the Year 2009.

Now in its 21st year and backed by accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, the West Business of the Year Awards are held to recognise the cream of the region‘s business talent.

Integral, a national company which has its headquarters at Aztec West, provides nationwide building maintenance services to a range of organisations including financial, local and national government, retail and health sectors, scooped the top award in the category for a business with a turnover of more than £25 million.

Despite the economic downturn the award was still hotly contested and Integral had to beat stiff competition from some of the West‘s best-performing companies.

The panel of judges were impressed by Integral‘s steady growth over the last couple of years which has continued despite the UK moving into recession at the beginning of the year.

David Charles, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and chairman of the judges at the awards said: “Integral has impressed the judges with its ability to continue to develop through tough economic times.

“Through strong management and corporate ethos, the business has evolved to a leader in their industry.”

He added: “Overall Integral differentiated themselves from the other finalists by demonstrating the ongoing development of the business and strength across all of the judging criteria which makes them a truly worthy winner.”

Bryan Glastonbury, Managing Director at Integral, said after the awards: “Despite the worsening economic climate we have continued to build on our solid growth programme and I am delighted the judges recognised this.

“We pride ourselves on providing the very best customer service and value for money without cutting corners, as evidenced by our market-leading client retention rates, currently running at 87 per cent.”
