NEW APPOINTMENTS AT THE CONSORTIUM

One of Wiltshire‘s biggest employers, The Consortium, has made two new key appointments.

The Trowbridge-based company, the UK‘s leading independent supplier to the education, care and early years sectors, has taken on Julie Heaven and Joe Bennett in senior roles.

Julie Heaven is the company‘s new Brand Manager for its education division and joins from the University of Wales where she was Marketing Co-ordinator for the Welsh Assembly Government‘s flagship adult education initiative, RISE.

With a successful track record in strategic brand development Julie will manage The Consortium‘s popular and innovative range of educational products.

She said: “This is a challenging time to join a new company, but I‘m very pleased to now be at The Consortium and look forward to developing its business in the demanding education sector.”

Joe Bennett has joined The Consortium following four years at disability charity Scope where he was HR director at its London head office.

Joe‘s primary role will be to head the company‘s HR department and provide support to its executives.

Earlier this year The Consortium, which has Investors in People accreditation, was made a South West Beacon Status company, an accolade given to the region‘s top-performing organisations who are measured against things like profitability and staff development.

An additional part of Joe‘s role will be to “benchmark” The Consortium against external standards such as Beacon Status and Investors in People.

He said: “As well as my HR and executive support duties, I‘ve also been handed a unique role in benchmarking The Consortium against external standards as part of the company‘s drive to be the best in the business.

“It‘s the sort of company where the staff‘s enthusiasm plays a vital role in its success and everyone I have met so far has reinforced this ethos.” 

Mark Barnett, Chief Operating Officer at The Consortium, said: “Joe and Julie are extremely talented individuals and I‘m delighted that they have joined us here as we strive to make our way through these difficult economic times.”
