A new department dedicated to raising the standard of FF&E provision in the BSF/PFI markets
Award-winning company The Consortium has launched a brand new dedicated department for customers involved in major new-build and refurbishment projects.
Already a market leader in the supply of resources to the education, care and early years sectors, the new venture, called Futia, offers specialist fixed furniture and equipment (FF&E) solutions designed to help create the next generation of modern learning environments.
Futia offers complete project management, from initial design concept to sourcing products from its extensive approved-suppliers lists, and finally through to the delivery and installation stages and specification sign-off.
This effective one-stop-shop formulae – coupled with The Consortium‘s renowned “Buying Made Easy” ethos – means Futia‘s specialist team is ideally placed to establish itself as the number one partner for new build and refurbishment projects.
Futia‘s launch comes at a time when the government‘s £45 billion flagship “Building Schools for the Future” programme will see every state secondary school in England rebuilt or remodelled affecting some 3.3 million pupils.
Joe Caddell, Director of Futia, said: “The Consortium has made the strategic decision to create a specialised team which focuses on the opportunities in the BSF/PFI market, and I believe we provide a service that sets the standard.
“Although we‘ve only just launched, our approach to projects – from initial concept through to completion is already proving immensely popular and successful with prime contractors, architects and head teachers. “
Mr Caddell said a crucial aspect to Futia‘s business offering was its flexibility, in that the team‘s input and support could be tailored to meet the needs of each client‘s project.
“Whether we are involved at the design stage or simply supplying against a pre-determined product list, we offer a complete peace of mind solution which is proving to be both successful and much in demand” he said.
Melanie Teal, Chief Executive of The Consortium, said: “The Building Schools for the Future programme is much more than just a large-scale building project, it is part of the wider ‘Every Child Matters‘ agenda which aims to improve outcomes for our children and young people.
“When dealing with Futia our customers can be assured they will get the same committed, vibrant and innovative service which has made The Consortium such a success.”
Last month The Consortium took Futia on the road to the Building Schools Exhibition and Conference in Manchester where it was extremely well-received with over 400 visitors to its stand including managing directors of primary contractors, local authority representatives, suppliers and architects.
“The feedback we had in Manchester was superb,” added Mr Caddell. “Clearly we are living through tough economic times, but there is still an appetite out there for people involved in major new build and refurbishment projects who desperately require the specialised skill sets which Futia offers.”
