THE CONSORTIUM SCOOPS WILTSHIRE “BUSINESS OSCAR”

Trowbridge-based national company‘s dedication to staff and customers rewarded at glitzy bash

The UK‘s leading provider of goods and resources to the education, care and early years sectors has won the Customer and Staff Care category at the prestigious Wiltshire Business Awards, regarded as the county‘s “Business Oscars”.

Trowbridge-based The Consortium beat off stiff competition from the likes of Center Parcs to scoop the award.

Despite the recession the awards‘ organisers were deluged with record numbers of entries, making success at the event harder than ever.

To win the award The Consortium had to show its commitment to things like organisational values, communication, development and training and demonstrate how it had increased its profits through staff motivation and good customer management.

Accepting the award, The Consortium‘s Chief Executive, Melanie Teal, said she was thrilled to win because it underlined the company‘s joint aims of creating a vibrant, creative workforce together with a dedication to providing superb customer service.

She said: “In winning this award the judges recognised our commitment to customer care, from the friendly manner of our customer services team, where nothing is too much trouble, to the success of our expanded sales force providing excellent customer care up and down the country.

“This award really is testimony to the service we provide across the whole organisation and the passion we share in providing excellent service.”

Melanie Teal added: “I‘m so proud of our achievements which show we truly are a winning team here at The Consortium.

“We may be living through difficult times, but I‘m confident that with our talented and dedicated workforce we are ideally placed to weather the economic crisis and come out the other side even stronger.”
