Sponsorships

Our industry has a “rule of thumb”:  be prepared to match the cost of your sponsorship funding with expenditure to exploit that sponsorship!

SVD has a different approach.

In rare cases, we shall advise clients to accept “tailor-made” sponsorship packages – and we‘ll then work with the client to squeeze every ounce of benefit from that sponsorship.

More often, where we believe that sponsorship can deliver a cost-effective return, it will be on the basis of creating your own initiative!

Over the years, we have demonstrated that our clients get far more value from engineering their own sponsored initiatives, rather than simply signing a cheque to be a sponsor of someone else‘s idea!

For example, we have created:

  • The forum of sponsors to create the Business Week supplement of the Western Daily Press;

  • The West of England Business of the Year Award (with the Western Daily Press and ITV1 West) for PricewaterhouseCoopers;

  • West Business Watch for Deloitte

  • Red Tape Watchdog for Bishop Fleming

  • Western Morning News professions‘ page sponsorship for Clarke Willmott;

Our aim is to create initiatives that deliver major editorial coverage – not just a platform for our clients‘ logos!

We insist on an arm‘s length relationship in dealing with the news media:  so we have no commercial interest in any sponsorship package that we create or promote.
